THE STOLEN ITEM: A Missing Orchid Ruby Necklace

THE ASSIGNMENT:

The Case of Red Rock Canyon leads the team to Las Vegas, Nevada, where they are thrown into the dramatic world of theater to solve their next mystery. A week before the opening night of one of the most talked about plays on the Strip. It’s main attraction—a one-of-a-kind Orchid Ruby Necklace—goes missing. The detectives soon become ensnared in a plot that could destroy them all. They must sift through the clues to figure out what is truth, and what are lies. One of their lives will be in the balance. Can they be saved? Only you can control the answer to that question. Join the Crypto-Capers on their adventure of self discovery and courage. Help them by solving the cryptograms and participating in the various activities. They are not for the faint of heart, but for the bravest and most confident of souls. Can you do it? We are counting on you. Good luck!

How to solve the puzzles in book 2!

Each book in the series is going to become harder and more challenging for the reader. More puzzles the reader needs to solve. Book 1 builds a good foundation into book 2. Keep in mind the reading level stays the same. In book 2 you will need to create your own cipher key to solve the puzzles in the book instead of me providing one for you. Here is your blank cipher key. As always, write this down on a piece of paper. You will come across your first cryptogram early in the story. Here is an example of some words that are in the cryptogram.

J Z H H G I U G A G V

The reader will continue reading and in so doing will run across various clues that look like this.

U=J H=D

The reader will then use the clues to plug into the cryptogram like so:

D D J

J Z H H G I U G A G V

Go back to your cipher key and begin to fill it in as well. I did that for you already. And there you go. Use the cipher key to fill in the rest of the cryptograms in the book. Mia (my cryptogram solver) also gives you some help.

The Panther is loose and is stealing expensive items, but for what cause? He was last seen in Las Vegas Nevada, but we both know that is not where he was currently residing. He is now on the run, but in his wake is left some stolen paintings. They are all paintings of Chichen Itza, except one. The odd one out is a painting of ballerinas. The Crypto-Capers are hired to find out where that painting came from and return it. Answer the questions and use the answers to fill in your mystery clues. Do your research and find the place where the painting is from for a chance to win a gift card to your favorite book store. Contest answers can be sent anytime! Drawing will be every few months!
